How to Create an Engaged Audience on Instagram in Just 3 Easy Steps…

If you’ve ever wanted to attract your ideal audience to your account on Instagram and have them engage with you, then you’re reading the right article. That’s because you’re about to discover my easy 3-step method for attracting and building an engaged community that will resonate with you.

And the good news is that this method works even if you do not want to spend all day on Instagram.

Read on…

Step 1: Profile Your Target Audience; figure out who you want to work with and why.

Many people who’re new to having a business on social media don’t even realize that they need to do this step before building an engaged audience who wants to buy from them. And that’s why a lot of people who try to sell on Instagram end up failing – they’re simply missing this crucial step.

So, the first thing you need to do is determine who your ideal audience is.

You’ll find that this part of the process goes much more smoothly if you apply these tips and tricks:

  • Determine if this is the person you were before you found the solution you have now and built your business around.

  • Or, this could also be one of your current clients; who is your best client? The person who calls you and you are so excited to talk to and help.

  • Don’t just look for an ideal audience that you think needs your product or service; this ideal person needs to be someone you enjoy communicating with, working with, and helping.

(You will be working with them a LOT!)

Once you’ve completed this first step of determining your ideal audience, then you can move on to the next step…

Step 2: Find your ideal audiences on Instagram.

The next thing you need to do is research the larger niche industry leader accounts your ideal audience is looking for the solutions to their problems from.

When I first started researching my ideal audience, I made a lot of mistakes. And now that I’ve helped others do it, I see many people tend to make the same mistakes. So let me share with you the top 3 mistakes and how to avoid them:

  • Having a scarcity mindset, meaning that you think there are not enough people to go around between you and your competition. Instead, understand that there are billions of people, and you are incapable of serving them all. Support your competition (peers), and know that the support you give them will come back to you. Have an abundance mindset.

  • Thinking that more followers mean more money, if you cannot make money with a small following, it is highly unlikely you will make money with a large following. Understand that while yes, more followers mean more opportunity, it does not always mean more money.

  • Treat people like people, not numbers. Every time a person taps that follow button, you owe them your time, respect, empathy, and knowledge. Do not take it lightly when people trust you to be honest and deliver what you promise you will provide.

Step 3: Engage, meaning writing comments on the posts of the larger niche industry leaders accounts you researched and where your ideal audience is.

At this step, you’re likely to notice feelings of fear and awkwardness. So, what you need to do is push through those feelings and keep going.

I still remember the first time I was doing this step and engaging on larger niche industry accounts. I felt like I was saying all the wrong things. I would type a comment and then delete it over and over again. I would finally come up with something I thought was “good enough” and tap send thinking, “they are going to think I am an idiot!”. Most people feel this way in the beginning, so keep these things in mind.

  • You are putting in the effort; everyone loves to feel appreciated if you have nothing else to say. Compliment the post’s creator on what you’ve learned or thank them for sharing their knowledge.

  • Read what other people comment; this will help you understand the post further and help you with your comment. Don’t just copy what someone else said; you want your comment to be unique to you and stand out to their audience.

  • Read the post thoroughly. Yes, this will take more time initially, but the more you understand the post, the easier it will be to leave a valuable comment that creates curiosity from your ideal audience. If the post’s creator left a question at the end of their post, answer it.

And there you have it – a simple 3-step method for creating an engaged audience on Instagram. Now that you know how to find and attract your ideal audience, there’s just one thing left for you to do: take action.

So get to it, and soon you too will attract an engaged community!
